Jdm evo 8 power windows not closing correctly.

I have a jdm evo 8. Recently converted the trims to an evo 9 trim with switches.

Turned the car on none of the windows worked plus i smelt some electrical burnt smell in the drivers switch. So i turned the car off switched all the evo 9 switches and put my 8 switches in all the doors

Now all the windows close 2 inch at a time so i have to click it 4-5 times. Also driver switch doesnt control the passengers window anymore.

So, i bought another driver power window switch to try, unfortunately it didnt help but atleast it now is able to control the passengers windows.

I've taken it to mitsubishi to get the ETACS system reset or windows. But 2 hrs later no luck said they cant fix it.

Now i've got a new Etacs unit but still same issue.
Relays are fine same as fuse.

Well clearly something got burnt? Unfortunately... it seems it'll be just a matter of locating it...

Have to check to see if your getting power and ground to the window motor. Test the motor see if it works, check for continuity in the wires using a ohmmeter.

The motors are getting power as opening the window works fine. Its just closing the window.

We've tested another car and the same thing happens but only on the driver window is affected but can be reset by just holding the close button.

Unfortunately with mine its all 4 windows with the issue.

Sounds like you fried the motors. Cause they can't be reset and won't stay close so if your getting power and ground and the switch works then it has to be the window motor lost there memory

Open the window completely then close it and hold the button on close for 2-3 sec

If they go up only two inches and stop, it sounds like something is holding the window. You know if you put enough pressure on the glass the window will stop going up thinking someone's arm is in the way.
My 2 cents
