My EVO 8 was the best car the first 4 years, never a problem. Once the mods started, problems also started. I got towed 3 times since I started mods.
If I left her alone she would of still be under the 10 year 100k mile warranty.
More power= more problems

Since the summer of 2006 with 2 miles on the odometer - today with almost 83K, the Evo has never left me stranded. The CEL has never came on and an IC pipe has never blown off. +-300 launches @ 5900rpm, few Auto-X, and a full day at BW13CW, daily driven (only car) and lots of Mt. runs. Stock power for about 1.5 years, 340/340 DJ w/ simple bolt-ons (TBE,Walbro, Hallman MBC) for more than 2 years, and then 290/320 DJ but 100% stock again with only a tune/pill. - I am still driving with the OEM Exedy clutch that Mitsubishi installed when they made my car. I had the timing belt replaced free for the IX TSB for timing belt noise, but that was just because it was annoying. I did have to jump the car 1 time a few months ago when the stock battery died. The car has exceeded my expectations. I didn't think the clutch was going to make it to 12K miles with all the 1/8 mile passes, but it's still fine today with zero slip. I also might have done 7000rpm+ in 6th gear for like 20 sec on the 'Wangan' hahaha... CT9A for life.

Fuel pump died out of nowhere. I stopped at the pumps to fill up the car and that was it!!!! I had it towed to the house and replaced the pump and harness (wouldn't disconnect from the pump Now I keep a spare pump and harness on-hand just in case.

My Evo has treated me really well.
My DSM on the other hand, all the tow truck drivers in Fairfield County know my car.
Fried Clutch
Broken CAS
Roasted Valves (that was a fun night!)
Dead front o2

Oh the joys of being 20 with a DSM, you become a mechanic really fast.

twice -_-...in the same day...

the relay for the inline fuel pump went out and I had to hard wire it to get to the airport to drop off my sister...10 miles later I had a light "tapping" sounds that went to a loud grinding sound within 45 seconds and had to pull over and get towed home...

The motor was freshly rebuilt and was only 180 miles into my break in. the bearings ate them selves to death and chewed the crank while it was at it. that was the last time it ran...the rebuild is almost done though :/ I've owned this car for 8 months and have less than 10 hrs of seat time and less than 300 miles...

twice: a couple of years back, the clutch housing broke in the drive thru at dairy queen. guess it was a bad cast because the two eye-lets that the clutch fork connect to broke off. That led to a month and a half ordeal.
Second time was this past weekend when the car just wouldn't start. Had fuel/air/spark but would just crank and crank without starting. Somehow the motor got flooded. Dealer added oil to the cylinders and it fired right up.

a couple of times uicp blew off a throttle body, but i fixed that in under 5 minutes. easier than a punctured tire, right?

other than that, nothing, in 5 years.

My old SRT4 did the same thing. In and out of the shop for over a year. Walked away from Dodge forever when they finally lemoned that POS out!!

Blew my ICP off once and my Walbro started dying on me about 90 miles from home. Oh yeah and I ran out of gas once about 3 miles from home. A few other headaches, but nothing else that has left me stranded.

Didn't vote because it wasn't the car's fault, but I was stranded with a flat tire. The previous owner had taken the spare out and I left my cell at home on the charger.

Combine that with the fact that I can't remember one working number by memory. So I had to walk and leave my new Evo in a parking lot.

LICP blew off on my way home after a E85 tuned. My tuner told me to carry tools.
