Has your EVO ever left you Stranded?

Hey Guys,

Just wondering has your EVO ever left you stranded? It could be on the side of a dark and empty highway, old dirt country road, the middle of a winter storm or a packed city street. Let's hear some stories guys.

Put a watermelon sized hole in my block on a next extension of a road near my house at 11pm on a rainy cold as hell night.

That was fun.

My coil packs failed 2 weeks ago on the highway. Had to wait for a tow truck and my mom to pick me up from the dealership. Also blew off the licp the first time I installed it and had to wait for tools to be delivered to me. I wouldn't really call that being left stranded for more than an hour.

Throttlebody ic tube kept blowing off over 3000 rpms. Had to limp home 300 miles and eventually weld a lip around throttlebody after trying all the suggested fixes (New hose, hard pipe, t bolt clamps worm clamps hairspray adhesive) Thanks evo

Not really, they just have to be installed correctly

I don't know why you had such trouble with the upper though.

Both my evo and my 2g DSM never left me stranded...the 2g came close a few times when I grenaded the transmission, but it had enough life in it to get me home. It also died a bunch of times on the road, but it always started right back up.

i had my brakes go out once because one of the lines was rubbing against the tire for a few months...eventually wore a hole in the steel. it was the shops fault not the evo, but i was stranded none the less.

Just intercooler hoses. Had to wait for my wife to bring tools to take the bumper off.

No, never. Most reliable car I've owned in 30+ years behind the wheel. Open the garage, fire it up - runs perfectly just like the day before. Next day, open the garage, fire it up - same thing. Bet I could change that with a few carefully chosen mods.

Only when my engine blew up at 209k.

Upper pipe comes off occasionally, But again I always have extra IC clamps and a set of tools in the trunk when the Upper pipe decides to pop off.
