Anyone know how to replace rear window (large and small glass)????????

So I got hit in the rear door a couple months ago and was lucky enough to find a matching door ( Art) Anyways I want to transfer my tinted window and small window to the new REAR DRIVERS SIDE DOOR. Anyone know how to do this or how much it would cost to get it done???? No one I've called want to only tint 1 window and anyways it might not match properly....

Thanks

I'm not sure about the cost to have windows transferred, but if no one wants to tint just one window, you buy the tint and do it yourself. I have done it on a couple of my own cars in the past and it is very simple.

Shame you're not closer or I'd offer to do it... I'm sure that there's someone capable in SoCal that'll do it for a couple of and maybe a few bucks

Haven't done it on an evo but imagine you have to remove the door interior panel mind some screws then the panel clips, then usually the glass is held on the track with two bolts. Make sure b4 to have access to the window bolts so when you put the new one in and walla!

I'll check my service manual when I get home... but I feel like that small window comes out and goes in by simply peeling the molding away?

What kind of people are you talking to where they won't do just one window? Thats BS! Also... if you call a glass SHOP (not the mobile guys typically) they might transfer it...

I checked the service manual... I can't find anything that is specifically for that small quarter window. The front and rear windscreen come out by peeling the moulding and cleaning the adhesive and then reapplying it.

I'd be wary to offer advice to just start gnawing away at this... the rear power window seems relatively straight forward... make sure the glass is in the right channels, and attached via the adjustment screws... but then again, I'm looking at the service manual.

I guess it's time to run a cost benefit analysis... ie... how much is it going to cost you if you screw it up, vs. having a professional do it?

Also... as an fyi, service manuals can be found for sale on ebay for about $6. Well worth it for me at least... I'd post the image of the pages in question, but I'm not certain how to go about it just now...

Good luck m8!

Thanks

I've been lucky enough to always find pics on here for projects like jdm rear, removing front bumper etc etc but it's hard to find pics on replacing the rear window

Yeah... there are no pics in the service manual that I was able to see either...

There are some pics involving adjusting the glass in the power window system, but that's a much more straight forward process than the rear quarter window.

If you open up the door panel and get that off you will be able to see all the mechanics to the door and the window. You should be able to get the epoxy off the window and the brackets and just do the same with the new door and re epoxy it.

This is just speaking from a different car I had to do this with, but I suppose it could be different with Evos.
