Unhappy HELP needed with new clutch!

Well my clutch just went on my Evo IX and I need to get the car fixed quickly because it is my daily driver. The dealer is trying to charge me over $1000 for the parts (bearing, disc, flywheel, cover, etc.) and $900 for labor. Any advice on better quality parts that I can purchase (preferably cheaper) would be greatly appreciated. I'm going to continue to do research, but do to the time sensitive nature I need to make a decision quickly and will not have as much time to read up as I would like. Thank you in advance for any advice, you are really helping me out.

I was in the same situation a few weeks ago and did the research. I went with an ACT Street Clutch and just resurfaced the flywheel. $1200 out the door.

+1 my car has had the ACT Street Clutch and ACT lightweight flywheel in since the car turned 22k miles. Right now I'm sitting at over 66k miles with no signs of slipping. My car is daily driven with 314whp/304whtq that was put down on CBRD's mustang dyno.

Overall, I like the ACT Street setup, it is a heavy clutch, but it's not unbearable. I got used to mine pretty quick.

I just purchased an act hdss, i've read alot of mixed reviews but for the most part the reviews were positive. Also bought a used flywheel and got it resurfaced already so I can do everything all at once and not wait on the machine shop. +1 on doing it yourself, definitely a pain in the ****, but its a great learning experience.

Any mods?? Just did mine a month ago (installed it myself also). I went with a competition stage 2. My mods are tb exhaust, apexi open air filter and boost contoller so with the mods i have and the ones i want that was enough clutch for me and it won't kill my bad knee pressing in the clutch. If your gonna mod aggressively you may wanna go with one that can handle your future mods.

OP. I have a IX clutch with only 20k miles on it I'll get go really cheap. If you would like an upgraded clutch I can help you there too. My prices won't be beat. Let me know what you would like. I recommend the Exedy Twin and I'm running a special right now on those. lmk

Have a great night.
