want to remove my a/c from behind the dash

hey guys ive looked around and cant seem to find anything on how to remove the a/c from behind the dash so i wanted to know if anyone has done this and how to and what to remove so please let me know thank you -doug

you got to pull the whole dash out, instrument cluster, steering wheel,etc. you also have to evacuate your a/c and drain your coolant--or at least top off whatever spills from removing the heater core lines.

With that said, I dont know if I would do it on a street car. Why do you want to remove the whole hvac unit? What are you trying to gain/ what are your goals?

I removed mine since I don't have A/C anymore (FF turbo setup) and am going to be replacing the factory HVAC box with a smaller unit from vintage air. No pics though as I'm not at the point of installing it yet, still doing cage/chassis work.

We'll be making new cables to keep the factory HVAC knobs/panel, no "kit" to speak of though.
