Am I covered?
If my wing got jacked up by some a-hole with a knife will my insurance (state farm) give me a check for a new oem wing plus fees or will they just pay to have the local body shop fix it?? Can it be fixed easily?? Thanks for the help
Ps I have whatever coverage required while I'm making payments, also live in WA STATE if that matters

Uh, why not just call State Farm? I'm guessing they are going to do whatever is cheaper for them. Off topic, how do you know it was a knife? Someone have a grudge against you? Time for some karate lessons or start carrying a weapon, legally of course. I hate thieve and people that vandalize vehicles, top of my I hate you burn in hell list.

might be cheaper to just fix it yourself and not get insurance involved
how much is your deductable on ur insurance?
take it to a body shop and get a quote and if its close to your deductable then it would be easier paying out of pocked versus having rates go up and paying deductable

Oooh they got to the carbon fiber? that sucks. I'm not 100% but the carbon fiber can't be fixed. When i backed into a garbage can and put a gouge in my wing I didn't even bother getting it fixed, I just did layers of touch up lol

If it is in the carbon I would call insurance. When my car got vandalized the wing was written at $1700. The sides are fine too, theres just a small crack on the bottom side of the carbon part and insurance replaced it.
Just to give you my perspective:
Someone keyed/scratched my car all the way down the driver's side from front to rear fender. I filed a claim with insurance (Progressive) and the next step was to evaluate if it could be touched up or needed a repaint. They sent me to a body shop and gave me two options: Pay my deductible, or get a check cut for the estimate minus the deductible. I just took the money since the cuts aren't deep or likely to oxidize. The paint on the thing is 9 years old anyway. I just squirreled it away for the inevitable respray.

Yeah thats your best bet. honestly the **** ive seen someone punctures my tires twice. Im not sure who it was probably a jealous co-worker someone had to have seen it since it was not under a camera that day so im going to install my own camera on it and it will be hidden so that the next time I see who did it it will be handed over to the authorities. Then if its someone at work I will press chargers so hard that their mother will feel it. All thieves and vandals with ***** motives must die in a fire.
