Big difference between CEL and MIL light also, and most cars don't have that light either.

Every car has a MIL..different manufactures use Various icons, but all cars from OBD- on have them.
MIL is the standard nomenclature for it.

BMWs also flash the check engine light when its misfiring. I dont think thats the case here though. I think it has the Tephra mod and its having some knocking issues either because too much timing, boost or combo of both. Could also be running too lean.

I am tuned on TephraMods v7. My car is set up so that if it detects 2-5 counts of knock the CEL will flash slowly, if it detects 6 or greater counts of knock, the CEL will flash rapidly. I know TephraMods v7 offers this feature, I am not sure if any other tuning program does at this time.

Got the car dyno and tuned today. Problem fixed.
The car runs a lot smoother now, the tune worth every penny.

Mine is doing the same sometimes also...before the tune do you know if it was doing it because knock or misfire? I would think if it was misfire it would leave a misfire code too but not sure

It was the knock sensor. My tuner said the knock sensor for the 8 is too sensitive sometimes and it was nothing to worry about.
