Dynoflash Stage Rev
I was thinking of buying the Dynoflash Stage Rev for 79 bucks instead of getting a boost control setup. Basically, for those who have purchased this, will the car simply hold 19psi to redline, and if not how much of a difference in drop off is there. Im just looking for a little kick in the top end.
It just eliminates some of the stock taper. On my car, the boost stays solid at 19.5-20 psi (depending on weather), then tapers to 18 near redline. It tapers much less than stock, and doesn't taper down to the stock levels (16 psi).

Mail-in ECU revlimit increse
Raise the rev limit over stock to any RPM you require up to 10,000rpm
Eliminate top speed limiter
Raise high boost fuel cut
Eliminate boost taper - keeps boost from falling off
$79.99 plus shipping and handling
I figured I'd just drive out to Pruven and just let them make the few changes.

Thanks, I wonder how much of a difference I'll feel with that, and yes i know its all subjective and gains vary. But, I can live with tossing 80 bucks down the drain incase.

it almost sounds better if somehow the boost taper is less noticable.??
anyone know?

Tuning these cars, even stock, gives HUGE driveability increases. I might just do this myself. Downgrade to the Stage Rev and use a UTEC or XEDE to custom tune. Personally, I'm waiting on the UTEC to see if its really as good as the hype. If you can, try getting a ride in a tuned Evo- you don't know what you're missing until you do!

The mail-in dynoflash consists of all the features of the Stage Rev plus basic air-fuel tuning, maybe timing tuning as well, I'm not sure. If you're considering the mail-in flash, I'd go for the all out custom tune. On my car, the tuning smoothed out the powerband considerably, brought on boost much sooner (300-400 rpms in most gears), and gave me good power gains across the board. If you have plans do further upgrades and aren't local, I'd just get the Stage Rev and maybe an XEDE, S-AFC, or E-Manage.

BTW ALL special pricing on the through the mail flashes will end on January 18, 2004 at which time they will be sold exclusively through outside vendors - although still serviced by me - expect to see prices raise about 25% after that

The drawback with using tuned air/fuel and ignition maps on the stock computer AND using a piggyback is that you can't compare your tuning on the same piggyback with someone elses on a different car. It becomes harder to tune the car because you're not tuning stock maps, but altered ones. Since I have no clue what adjustments were made to the stock maps, it becomes guesswork tuning on an additional piggyback. Don't worry though Al, I still love your DynoFlash.

Of course the base through the mail flash gets you 90% of the power - in a safe manner - with zero hassel
Custom Dyno Flash nets you the extra few hp - smoothes things out and verifys saftey
