My intentions are to keep the Evo as the primary vehicle (DD). I have an 07 R1 but I'm a bit on the opposit of everyone lol. I will put my bike away in the winter and use the evo more. Yeah, Cali weather is the ****! but after only having the bike as my primary for 1.5years im NEVER going to freeze my *** off in the winter again...I use the wifes Tahoe for little errands so I guess that will help with the little mileage that doesnt need to be put on.

My dd is a 97 camry, lol, so it makes the evo A LOT of fun when I get in it. Im not worried about putting miles, parking etc with my evo that makes me want a dd. Its just nice when I tear into the car, it doesnt have to be together that same day and ready to run again.

Do they sit and stare at it at night like a playboy magazine or something? i mean lets face it the automobile was invented to get you from point a to point b. some get you there faster than others, but the point still remains cars were meant to be driven not sit. i dont get why people want to keep the miles off the cars either, i mean things that break or wear can be replaced or fixed so whats the big deal? to me having more miles on my car than some means ive had more fun in mine than you have lol. if something breaks i fix it and hit the road again.

Agreed. Can't enjoy or experience something unless you use it all the time. Jay Leno is a good example. He drives all of his vehicles, no matter what time of the year it is. In that essence, my EVO is my DD, and every moment I spend in it is enjoyable. Just have to remember that you're driving on a platform that is truly drivable on a daily basis and yet has the potential to make big power when you need it. It's all about perspective.

I never get bored with my Evo. Hell, I never get bored with any car, just the road conditions. The drive is what you make of it. This being said, the Evo is not my only car.

I have ~18K on my IX driven off the lot in October of '06, and I live in a relatively urban area. I drive the car almost every day, except for the winter when the roads are covered in salt. There's no commute to speak of, and everyday errands like going to the supermarket involve a drive of a mile or less. Hell, it takes more time to drive around and warm up the car than to get where I'm going. It's not my only car, it isn't driven on trips, so how are the miles supposed to rack up? The bulk of the mileage on my Evo are fun miles. I go out very early almost every morning and run the car, just as I did today. Better than coffee.

I know this very well, it took me 3 years to rack up 26,000 miles on my last car that I bought brand new. I can throw a rock at any direction from my driveway and hit where I normally go. It's great on keeping the mileage and gas costs down, but why walk when you can drive an Evo?

I find that I enjoy the car a lot more and it's more of a "reward" to drive it by driving my truck as my DD. I don't want to put sitting on the freeway miles on the Evo...I'd rather save the wear and tear for the track and the back roads.

Honestly, I wish I had another car to DD. If I had left it more stock I'd be fine with DDing it for any reason like when I first bought it.

And I've put just over 30K on my car in the 14 months I've been able to use it since I bought the car. 3 months of downtime and a 13 month deployment have kept me away since I bought it in Mar, 09.

It hasn't really stopped me, when I was on leave 2 months ago I drove home which is a 1000 mile one way trip and back, but then it broke and has sat since.

Its not just an Evo. If you drive your fun car everyday its no longer fun and then you start missing/*****ing about the lack of creature comforts. Your fun car should only be driven when you want a visceral driving experience. Also if you are paying a note and spending thousands on your car when you get to a point where you snap to reality the knee jerk reaction is to sell and get out.

Most people who sell their Evo's end up coming back in some way.

Have a second vehicle to drive. You won't want to modify the car as much and you'll be amazed how fast 300+ HP feels again.

guys with stripped out racers sure its understandable you cant drive it daily

however near stock cars, full interior or just boltons IMO no excuse. take your evo out every day enjoy it to its max and to hell with it if it gets dirty.
bro I agree with every single thing you said and I tried to say the same in a different thread on here and they ripped me a new one. No one agreed with what I had to say at all!

if i could i would use the evo everyday. but lets be real, the car parts will NOT last forever. Having a DD lets me prolong the life. No sense in driving my evo when i know its going to be bumper to bumper traffic or its crappy weather outside. A lot of us have put countless amount of time and money into our evo's.

Long story short:
I DD the evo for 2 years. I finally got a beater DD car and it made my evo experiences 10x better

I had a daily for the evo x and I found it sitting cause I drove the X all the time. Once I got rid of the X and went to an 8 I find my self wanting another daily because the 8 has more miles and I just wanna keep the useless one off the 8 like driving to work and back.
