does having a DD make the evo experience better?
I agree with it does make the experience better. I have a truck for a 2001 blazer for my DD and my evo stays in the garage. My evo is an 03 with 33k miles. I love the car, and when. Dint drive it after a couple weeks, the car feels great and I love it even more.
To the guy who used Jay Leno as an example for someone who drives their CARS every day...what the hell, worst example ever
Were talking about daily driving an Evo vs having a beater and the evo for fun, and you come out of left field and say Jay Leno. It would take Jay Leno 84 days to drive each car he owns if he drove one per day lol. If you had enough money to buy everyone's car on this forum, youd drive each car every day too regardless of the seasons and whatnot.

I DD my Evo and it does get boring. I do get excited to drive it, but when I do, it gets boring. Hopefully a tune will change things. I just wish I could have a beater car and keep miles off of the Evo.
i want another car just to have another car. Comes in handy as mentioned before for repairs or if your doing mods or a different experiece like haveing a Car and a truck. so you can haul or get items. Miss my s10 it was fixed up to but my friend blew the motor so i gave it to a junk yard. Maybe after this paint job or next year ill get some kind of DD. I dont care about mileage on my evo i have only driven my evo for 7 months out of owning it for 3.5 years putting a total of 4k on old motor and 3k on new built setup so has not gotten a chance to get old to me. Its spend more of its life down then up to this point so now i need to make up lost time
I live in NYC and i'm def getting a DD before the end of the year. The roads here are **** and people drive like *******s and if they aren't driving there are those that don't really care for other people stuff. So i rather garage my evo and use the DD to go anywhere where I don't think my car would be safe.

My point is you don't put any car on a pedestal. They're meant to be driven. EVOs do depreciate quite a bit in comparison to his cars anyway, yet we talk about our cars as if they're more valuable than gold. While I understand sentimental value that we all share as enthusiasts, we're never going to get the same or more money out of these cars compared to what we put into them. So, drive these things like they're meant to instead of making decoration pieces out of them. I'm not saying that one shouldn't maintain them or what have you, but do know coming in that cars are money pits. I know I've spent a boat load on many cars I've owned prior to my EVO and never saw anything close in return to what I spent on them.
Perspective is key to understanding what field my assertion is on. So, is that better or would you like me to waste your reading time with more useless elaboration?
i bought mine as my dd and only car and i loved it at first then got it tuned and it was even better. I didnt want to but had to drive it all winter to. driving it all the time takes away from it alot for sure but all you really need is a few days away from it and its fun again. when my clutch went i drove a buddys sentra spec v and when i got back into my evo it was like the first time all over again

I get what you were trying to say. But, still...Jay Leno = worst possible example.
I used to DD my Evo when it was my only car. I've gone through a daily driver a year for the past few years now haha. I get bored of those but never get bored of my Evo. My only prob with the Evo is the cost of gas here and I just don't want to deal with the stress of commute abuse. The freeway where I live is really messed up and has totally screwed up my CRX's alignment. I don't really care about that car 'cause it's my DD. When the weekend comes I enjoy my Evo. I didn't by an Evo to smack into potholls and slowly inch along in traffic.

i personally have another car to DD. I love driving the evo but i don't know if i would be able to drive it on a daily basis since its basically race ready.
I also feel secure that i have a back up car if one of them breaks.
16K-06 EVO

HELL NO. DD an evo makes the experience better. i dont understand those that have had their evos since 03 and 04 and only have 20k miles on the car. how can the experience be that great with it sitting in the garage? Do they sit and stare at it at night like a playboy magazine or something? i mean lets face it the automobile was invented to get you from point a to point b. some get you there faster than others, but the point still remains cars were meant to be driven not sit. i dont get why people want to keep the miles off the cars either, i mean things that break or wear can be replaced or fixed so whats the big deal? to me having more miles on my car than some means ive had more fun in mine than you have lol. if something breaks i fix it and hit the road again.
More than one friend questioned my bi-monthly 600 mile snowboarding trips. I bought the car to drive it.
To the OP: Please reconsider your stance on driving the Evo in the winter. A set of wheels and snow tires can make for incredibly fun drving. I say rock it year round.
