does having a DD make the evo experience better?
I spend 40+ days a year working/playing in mammoth, and last winter was epic. We had roughly 660 feet of snowfall. I actually got tired of digging out the car. Not sure how that compares to the rest of the country, but I imagine I have alot to learn..

Now if I had to deal with salted roads and the corrosion that comes with it... I too would be driving a truck..
It's my track car, but I pamper the sh*t out of it and only flog the sh*t out of it on the track.
It was my daily for two years and I enjoyed it then and I still enjoy it now.
I DD, but I'm always afraid of parking everywhere I go for a number of reasons. One being that I'm always in Hartford with a looming feeling I'll walk out to my car to find just a steering wheel. DD is fun I can't find a reason why I bought the car to not drive it everyday. My sister's bmw sits for weeks at times and I wonder why pay for something that you can't enjoy daily.

the first year i bought mine, i drove it everywhere. after noticeing the mileage went up a significant amount i said the hell with that, and started just using the spare car my parents had sitting in the driveway. its better throwing miles on a beater then haveing your evo rack up the miles, then when you do drive your evo you enjoy it alot more, PLUS you dont have to worry about the haters vandalizing it. for having mine for 6 years it makes me alot more worry free.
You should drive the Evo in the snow!! It's awesome! Also, perhaps you're bored with your Evo cuz you never did the rear differential. Get some throttle oversteer dude! It's way better than the piglike understeer that you get stock.
I DD'ed my X in the States and DD my IV in Oki now. In between these, I rented some sort of Jeep (Patriot? Liberty? dunno) while on vacation in Miami. I hated every minute behind the wheel. I can't stand driving something with no performance now, even if it's stoplight to stoplight. I'm not in any way concerned about mileage.
When I move again I intend to have both my Evo's (either sneak my IV back into the US, or take my X out of the States to mainland Japan or maybe Eastern Europe), so I'll be able to DD one while the other is down for mods/repairs. Plus I'll have the choice of dual-clutch and manual trannies too. Winning.
