Can you post the link to that thread?

If you are not making big power, then don't worry about it.

This isn't actually the thread I was talking about; I only have so much time, but it will give you the info.

My 6-speed has held up well but I also don't hot lap the car. I know Aaron lost his 5th gear slider I think and a few people busted their 4th gear but if you just do freeway pulls like me it will probably last a long time. I'm still getting a 5-speed though because I wan't to make over 500ft/lbs and have it last.

Drove my 2006 IX MR for 5 years, over 70k miles, and not a single problem with the car whatsoever. When I got rid of it, still had factory clutch, changed the tires once, changed the brake pads once, and did all the scheduled maintenance .

Modded with bolt ons, new tune etc. 324awhp on a mustang dyno @ 24 psi.

Road racing seems to cook the 6-spd trans pretty quickly. I replaced mine with a Shep 5-spd "ultimate ratio" and haven't looked back, but if you want to prevent premature failure consider installing a trans cooler, and be cautious about the amount of power you run through it.
