Question Back seats...

I was sitting playing video games with my girl friend last night when out of the blue she wanted to race me in gt3. I figured what the hell. So we are picking cars and she finds the evo 7. She was like isn't that the car you test drove with me. I explained I test drove an 8 and she already knows by now that I'm most likely getting it in april/may. Then she starts *****ing about how the back seats was the most uncomfortable thing in the world and that if i got it she would only sit in the front or she wouldn't go any where with me in it. She was in the back seat and i was driving the car like it was supposed to be driven so she was getting tossed around a bit. So I thought maybe that was the problem. Anyway my question is, being that I've never sat in the back seat since i was driving, is the back seat as uncomfortable as she claims?

Thanks!

every person that i took for a ride said the exact opposite. everybody love the back seat and they say that it is very roomy. also, i have the opposite problem, due to much narrower seats in the front, people refuse to seat there and they all want to ride in the back seat.

i don't think it is. i think she's talking about the ride itself. the suspension is stiff so it makes the ride kinda hard. the back seat is pretty much like anyother car i've been in. it does have plenty of head and leg room. even my mom says the back seats are fine, it's just the ride that makes her sick.

I've never heard any complaints on here so I figured it was just the ride. I only planned on putting her in the back seat every now and then... and the car wouldn't be moving anyway... well maybe rocking, but I don't think she'll mind the ride then!

Thanks again for the help!!

The back seat has a remarkable amount of room for a relatively small sedan. Today at lunch, I sat in the back seat of mine as some of my buddies took turns at the wheel. I'm 6'3" tall, and I had plenty of head, knee, and toe room. All of the guys I was with are big men, and all of them commented on how roomy the back seat is.

The seat itself is rather flat, with not as much thigh support as I would have preferred. I'd love to see the rake angle tipped back a couple of degrees. Also, when cornering hard, you get tossed around a bit. Hanging onto the grab handles helps. The front passengers, comfy in their butt-hugging Recaros, get none of this. I've also noticed that the firmness of the ride is felt more acutely by those in the back. It's not unacceptably bad, but I understand your friend's comments. My advice -- keep her in the front passenger seat.

at the beginning before i purchase the car , heard different opinions about the Evo interior . That the Sti was way superior by it . Now that i have my Evo , i dont think people were right on that IMO . I love the back seats , there very confortable along with the front seats . I use to have Recaro seats in a different car and different friends of mine had also different type of recardo seats in different vehicles . An this by far are the best , nice and confortable. May be the fact that she didnt strap the seat belt on the back could of being an issue , specially if you were taking hard turns . That made her go all over the place ....

Dude all she is trying to do is establish to you that SHE rides in the front, always.

Trust me, I heard the same **** from my ex when I had a BMW! C'mon now, she expected me to believe her!!

Take it from me too, LET her ride in the front, always.

Every chick, same story
I think the back seats are good, every time you drive like nuts around the bends, folks in back seats in virtually any car will be hurt more.

Also, just tell her to throw down the center arm rest. That is, of course, if you want to pay hell later.

The suspension is too stiff for the car to rock

I've been in the backseat twice. Ok, three times if you count the time I cleaned the rear window from the inside. From what I can remember, its fine. My little sister never complains about it. The only complaint I ever heard about the backseats was that the seatbacks of the fronts are hard, and if you have your knees against them it could be uncomfortable. I know for a fact that the backseats are MUCH roomier than the RX-8 or WRX.

Yeah, my wife says if we have a kid she's afraid it will get "shaken baby syndrome" from the ride in my car
