Unhappy Possible Starter Problem?any sugg.

ok so everytime i get in my car i turn the key and the car feels like its going to start properly, but then it dies. Then i do it a second time and it always starts perfectly. once its started it runs perfect and never turns off. i Think the starter might be dieing but no positive. my battery is at a 12.6 voltage at the moment so its not that. If you think its the starter can you help me find it and tips on taking it off??? i cant seem to find it. Any other suggestions other than the starter?its an 05 evo 8. thanks really need assistance fast i already reserached

A small boost leak will do this. I had the hose from the valve cover to the intake fall off on my DSM (well, I probably knocked it off). Until I replaced the hose it always struggled to start.

Upgraded fuel pump and no afpr? If it starts and dies it could be a fuel problem , maybe leaky injectors or a clogged fuel filter? So check all your grounds in the engine bay.

No need in a aftermarket FPR. Sounds like it does have something to do with the fuel system to me.
