Sell your Evo and buy the VW.

i can't stand how there is this idea that the MR is somehow different than the other evos. Engine-wise every evo 8 is exactly the same. every evo 9 is exactly the same. Transmissions are different, plus a bunch of cosmetic stuff. That's it. Engines will swap just fine. As for the guy wanting to swap the TDI engine or whatever... If you're worried about gas mileage you shouldnt even be thinking about an evo.

Yes. Yes there is. It actually does not take any custom fabrication whatsoever because mitsubishi and vw corrobarated on the development of the new tdi clean diesel engine and they made it specifically so it fits in the older model evos.

where the F*$K did this question come from?

Yes its the same motor, just tranny diffrences. Just have a shop do it for you, since you don't seem very knowledgeable about the car. minus well do a water pump, oil pump and timing belt while your at it too. And some head studs.

Really?
If you want 40mpg buy the Volkswagen. No need to ruin a perfectly good Evo. It's not an economy car!
