should i wait for 04 model?
should i wait for 04 model?
as far as i can tell, it doesn't look like anything significant is going to be changing for the 2004 model... if so, is there any good reason for me to wait? i was thinking that even if there aren't any published changes, there may be component, process, and/or procedural changes/updates during manufacturing that can only be beneficial... is this good reasoning? thanx...
No it is a bad time to buy an 03.
There is no money back on it, and 2004 is around the corner.
I do not care what they say- you will be able to buy 04 for the same as 03 unless
03 will be discounted or 04 price will increase.
It also depends if you want to wait.

it depends what you want out of it. the 04 mr is definetly the track car. that's what its made for. no extras to weight it down. no wing, no pwr windows and i think no pwr locks. it does have the better tranny though. if you like the comfort of it all, then u should get the 03. it should be a bit cheaper now that they are on clearance. just my .02cents

I know mitsu gave the dealers an incentive to sell a certain number before the end of the year, but now I dont know of anything.
(I would however expect cash back starting on evos some time this month)

I'd get an 03 now. If you decide to sell it down the road, which is going to have more value: a "low mileage" 03 w/ X amount of miles or a "high mileage" 04 with the same X number of miles?

. By the way, you just struck on the ONLY reason to wait for an 04, resale. If your planning on running it into the ground, like me, then 03 or 04 are just numbers.
I know it is stupid, but i have this thing about production year cars... as in i don't buy them. I would just feel better about an 04 in my garage. Don't get me wrong, i'm not one of those people that think the evo has all these problems. I have just seen all the track records for 1st production year cars that have problems (even if they are small ones) and just think it might be better to wait for the 04. Besides have they even been out a year yet? The most mileage i saw was 36k. I mean if the right deal falls in my lap, i'll probably have to get over my little pet peeve of 1st production year cars, but until then i think i'll just stick it out. Plus It never hurts to have more for a down payment and i need a beater and i just got my first credit cards last month (because the credit companies screwed up my files) so i could use this time to build up some credit. Take it as you will... just my 2 cents...more of a rant i guess...
