2007 EVO IX, anyone?!

why is it that there's pretty much no info about the '07 model year ninth-generation evolutions? is it that they were only produced for a few months (similar to the '03 seventh-generations)? is it because they weren't sold in north america? i know that they went back to the drawing board for 2008, but did they even make ANY 2007 LANCER EVOLUTIONS? i'm just curious, and was wondering if anyone had any info about this.

i've owned an '03 and an '05 LANCER ES. i now drive an '07 LANCER ES. and since there isn't much info about those either, i wanted to see if anyone else knows why...

There is no info on 07 IX because there is no such thing. The IX was only a one year production car in the US. It was in 2006.

cool, thanks for the info, guys. i still wonder why the 2007 model was never brought to the states. according to that article, there were a few last-minute tweaks.

I believe Stability Control was mandated by the US Gov for all cars built and sold from 2007 on. Hence why no Evo in 2007.

I've been wondering the same thing about this, so basically there was no Evo sold in the US in 07? Since the X came out in 08?

Edit: lol guy above me answered my question, thanks! Didn't know that.

The IX wasn't in the US, becuase side airbags were manitory in the US in 07. The IX SE is a late production 06, because they couldn't sell the 07 here.

Good thought, but you are probaby thinking ABS. Stability control, VSA, EBC...etc... is mandated 100% for 2012..... 2009 was the first madation implementation of only a percentage of vehicles as it phases in.

I'm going to state that they no longer made '07 for USDM... and just to be 100% clear the difference between the last '06 made to '07 probably is weeks.
Think just how many Mits vehicles are imported from Japan?.... probably very few besides the EVO, I'm sure its logisitics reason why we only have '06's (based on the total volume they planned for USDM market)
my $0.02

Thats what it was! I was thinking it was that or the stability control, I chose the latter, which is wrong.
