you just answered your own question...... the HKS SSQV doesnt work well with newer evos 8,9s not so sure about 10s. the stalling and what not is caused by the BOV, get yourself either a stock 9 one like everyone has said or there are quite a few aftermarket BOVs that recirculate. i have an Agency power BOV that can do both either recirculate and vta. if your looking for the WHOOSHING sound, some recirc bov actually sound like their vta but arent.

Oh well... That was a waste of money. I'll give it to my mate I guess...
Not sure about AFRs, I don't have a gauge, but plan to get one soon!
I'll look into some other options...

^^^Both of those are your problem.

If i were you, Crush you stock BOV and go back to it. Get rid of that POS its pretty much worthless and its a ricers wet dream of a blow of valve. You will get sick of the flutter's and the whistling. My buddy had one with a recirculation kit and it sounded gayer then aids.

Your vehicle requires your Bov to be recirculated, So unless you want to go with AEM EMS or speed density, get rid of it.

No, not adjustable...

...Anyway, like I said, I'll just get rid of it. Back to the recirc stock bov.

Werid, I have not had one problem with mine, even before when I was on stock ecu and maf... I know some people hate the SSQV, but really, the correct answer here is

1. Get a tune
2. If its setup VTA, then go SD
3. If you don't get a tune, then recirculate it. If it still has problems, then I guess getting another BOV is the next option

I love how much crap people talk on the hks bov when in fact its a pretty good product. The design of them makes it so under higher boost they only seal more. Crushed 9 bov will start leaking in the mid 20's of boost.

Go speed density, have a tuner tune around it a little bit to smooth things out, learn to live with giving it a little throttle now and then, or get a new bov.

Sorry, I think it could be a fake. The seller claims it is 100% genuine. Is there any way to tell?

Yup, and all the fake ones I've seen they don't say HKS anywhere on them, and something by the diaphragm is different too.
