Good tuner will keep it from breaking. Remember it is not just a fluke thing, it has alot to do with what goes on in the motor and that has alot to do with how it is tuned.

of course a tuner can make it try lasting better , by puting the torque peek higher in the revs when tuning the car , Yes it does have a influence on the enginge ,
But the piston rods can only handle a maximums force of power " torque " in diffrent points of load values , and a sutch ting as a missfire have make them pop right of if you are unlucky when you put that mutch force to enginge parts that arent ment to handle that from the begining ,

I've been curious about this also. This will be my first mod so I thought I mine as well knock this out of the way and get the AMS Basic Engine Rebuild Kit for a strong motor this week heres the link.

http://www.amsperformance.com/cart/A...build-Kit.html

After this I wanted to get the Bullet Buschur Racing TBE and work my way from there. I really want a strong motor, and I have not been keeping to good with my shceduled oil changes. Is this a good idea? I plan on doing an oil change every3,000 - 5,000 miles after the upgrade. Or should I hold off.

Understood and I will take my chances. I run extremely tight gaps in my plugs to avoid any misfires or unwanted detonation in the motor. I run a .022 gap on all my plugs. Tighter gap means higher boost without blowout which leads to no misfires. I got all the bases covered and I have spent alot of time making sure I take the proper measures to secure my motor for a while.

As many people have said, at your power level there is always the risk of the motor going. That being said, I would at the very least start saving now for a rebuild.

Like everyone else has said build it when you can. I know for a fact that if i had the money to drop in to my short block i would. do it right do it once. Build it with the right parts and builder and you will have a moter that can take any thing that you throw at it. i think its worth the peace of mind my .02 cent
