Do you work/build/tune your own evo ?

I was wondering who on here builds there own engines/perform wiring/fab
there own stuff or other on there cars. Some of us rather do our own work
or might not be as financially stable or have the tools for the right job. Therefor
sometimes we do it our selves. Sometimes i work on my own evo or use how to

As much as I would like to, I feel more comfortable having a professional do the major work.

I tune and replace parts, but I will let the pros assemble motors and transmissions.

I do everything on my car except for major mechanical thing (pistons, rods valves etc...) and tuning. I have a basic understanding of tuning and can make minor adjustments but i would rather have the proffesionals take care of that for me.

I do all the maintenance, and small mod jobs. I'll do the easy tuning/reflashing stuff, stationary rev limit and tephra stuff. But anything that could likely destroy my investment I'm not keen for the risk.

I try to do most of the work myself..its just more fulfilling that way but without a heated garage and lift there are somethings I let the pros do. If it was a cheaper car that I wasnt afraid to experiment on I would probably try more. Tuning is something I probably could do but im not confident enough to try it for the first time haha

IX: I did all my own work, installs, etc. and did rough street tuning then took it to a dyno tuner for final adjustments. I did do the complete SD conversion and street tuning myself though and it put down very solid numbers on the dyno.

X: I'm getting older and lazier so I have paid to have some of my larger installs done, and don't do any of my own tuning anymore. I'm perfectly happy with this, less stressful and more time spent enjoying the car! I go eat lunch while someone else busts their knuckles

You mean 0 friends that work on evos?

I remember when I had my honda, swapped it and boosted it by myself, generally easy.

I'm too afraid to build my motor I don't want to be driving around with a grenade lol

Sry meant evo. Yea im sure most of us have. It's good to know that other ppl do most of there work on their cars i got some more stuff to do on mine but not sure if i want to do it my self or let a shop do it. Like defi gauges and other small stuff. But it's to cold to wrk on a car with no shop/garage.

I do all my own tuning and as much mechanical stuff as I can. Saves money and it's become a hobby!
