Intake Hoses Blowing Off...

Not sure how much boost you guys are running... But on WOT, I hit 22psi (tapering to 18 towards redline) and my intake hose just keep blowing off. 4th time it has happened now...

I've been told once the hoses are "oil soaked" there is nothing you can do, they will just keep blowing off...

Does anyone have a solution to this (besides getting new piping, which I plan to do soon) as it is really starting to annoy me.

I have some t-bolt clamps, which are the wrong size (but I am exchanging them soon) and I will be using t-bolt clamps on everything... will this alone fix the problem?

Replace the intake pipe/coupler that is "oil soaked" or buy a good degreaser & try to clean the hell out of it...But if its "oil soaked" that bad I would just replace it...

T-bolt clamps will fix it for sure but a good cleaning of the oil will help too.

They are all beginning to pop off, working back from the throttle body... Might try the degreasing method first...

I run ab 28 psi and no pop off problems. Clean the pipes well and hit the ends with some hairspray, then put the t-bolts back on. I did this and let my car set a few hours and not a single problem since.

When I had this problem with my stock pipes I cleaned both the pipes and the TB with alcohol and degresser. And then I put it back on with Airspray and t-bolt clamps. It will hold for a very long time. But It will wear out after awhile. But its better then everytime. Hope this helps. GL

As stated above. Clean couplings and ends of pipe well. Apply hair spray. Install back together with t-bolts. Let sit for a couple hours. Now enjoy the car. Mines running 29PSI with the method stated above. Never once popped a pipe.

Rub brake clean or alcohol on the outside of any metal pipe and inside on any rubber coupler...let dry..spray hairspray on rag then rub the outside and inside of the NOW dry pipes and couplers...let stand for a few minutes and re-assemble. You shouldnt have any more problems after the treatment

Honestly if you are having issues with more than 1 coupling/clamp I would replace all the couplings & t bolt clamps...Install all the new stuff & do a boost leak test to your target boost level.

Awesome! Thanks guys. I must admit, hairspray didn't come to mine, but kind of makes sense!
