I am posting up here because the Lancer side of the forum is pretty dead it seems.
Obviously when I go to replace these items on my Evo IX they will be all OEM...
However my OZ is about to hit 186,000 and I want to replace the following:
Timing Belt
Timing Belt Tensioner
Water Pump
Gates and AC Delco both sell a kit that comes with all 3 items and are priced about the same. I have been a fan of Gates products in the past, but AC Delco makes good stuff as well. Any suggestions??

yeah rite Gates is Garbage..i had my water pump replaced not even 2 yrs AGO! And had a mechanic do it because i was too buisy at work charged me $85 for part and labor costs new thermostat and gates belt $500+ later I can hear bearings starting to Go in Fairly New Gates pump ALREADY! From the ORIGINAL 20YR Stock Water Pump Jeep cherokee sport xj iL 6 4.0 Pump..20 YEARS!..If you go on Rock auto Gates water pump is 2nd on the list to the cheapest of cheapest Garbage $22.00....AC delco Gold at $40.79 is 2nd to last Best on the list ..witch is Mopar at $125.. AC Delco is made by GM ..Gates is China made Crap..I didn't know that they installed a Gates until Physically reading my receipt jst recently to read warranty on the work and parts they used..and this was a well recommended mechanic..there all crooks..exact reason why i do my own work ..anything to make more $ charged me $85.00! For a $22 Gates Garbage pump smfh $75 for gates serpentine belt witch Also is $20.00 on rock auto..AC delco Alll Day..or better off going to auto zone for $42.00 Duralast is even better and lifetime warranty...So..live and learn...
