evo8 cluster swap to 02 lancer es tech q

I am not sure if this is the place for this Q but i figured its an evo8 cluster, so I'm sure you guys know your stuff.

I swapped my stock cluster to an evo8 cluster on my 02 lancer es . everything works fine minus the fuel gauge. It seems to be going to the FULL mark when my tank is not even at that point , should be around 1/4.. is there a size difference between the evo8 and 02 es in terms of gas tank? could this be the issue?

thanks in advance for the assist!

not sure why your cluster is messed. maybe fill your tank full, pull off your needle and reset it back onto full. see if that corrects the issue.

to answer your question yes the evo tank is different from the lancer. evo tank has a hump where the driveshaft passes through.

I`ve seen a few guys swap clusters for the evo one without issue so do step 1. above and hopefully that fixes your problem.
