Racing Harnesses for my evo
Racing Harnesses for my evo
I couldnt find this anywhere, so if you know a thread feel free to post the link and I will look...
But I want racing harnesses for my car, and I see that alot of people have the bar behind the seats.. I dont want that, is there any way that i can install the harnesses without the harness bars and without taking the backseats out
EDIT: Also, does anyone have the harness bars in their backseats and it turns out that they arent that bad. if so tell me. I just dont want it to be uncomfortable for my backseat passengers.

Do not get a harness bar IMHO. They ruin the use of a back seat. In a front end accident any backseat passenger will have their face met with the bar.
I would recommend the Schroth Universal Rally 4 with ASM. You can unbuckle it and use your back seats, the ASM device makes it safe for use in cars with out a cage. It's great for someone who does light tracking or autocross.

Buschur Racing makes the only Quick Release Harness bar so you can use the rear seat. They are no longer making it after this run so get on it EARLY. I think its in the turbo forum on here. Call them directly if you want it. I think they had about 7 out 10 slots filled up.

Yup most would say a harness bar is not safe for daily driving.

My trouble is that there often is someone in the back seat. So, even a quickly removable bar wouldn't work for me. I'd wear out the pins. Too bad.
i agree with you barneyb on everything you said but we are fixing to get flamed for it i just know it lol.
with that said i believe a harness that keeps someone alive in a crash at over 300mph where all thats left is the driver and the seat is much safer than an oem belt in a crash at the same mph if the harness was installed and worn correctly. but now wait no evo is gonna do 300mph right? well if all things were equal and lets say we lowered the mph down to 120 which most cars are capable of wouldnt the harness still be more safe than a oem belt with all variables being equal?
i stand behind what a say on that based on physics. a regular oem belt is basically a 3 point belt with a lap portion and the portion that goes across the chest. now with a 4 point harness you have the same lap portion except 2 straps coming down instead of across. now wouldnt more distribution and equal distribution of the force in an impact over a larger surface area on the body be safer?
