Just depends on the guy's goals. I make 510 wtq before 4500 rpm...yeah, it tapers out the top, but it sure is fun to drive on the street. If I were to be building a car that was more track oriented, I'd look no farther than the HTA86 you have.

For whoever asked about the spool differences between the journal bearing and ball bearing FP turbos, the difference is minimal, maybe 200-300 rpm. Where the BB CHRA shines is how quickly it recovers boost between shifts. The shaft speed stays higher during the shift translating to faster spool up. Plus you have the added durability at higher boost pressure.

So I would like to see how many stock frame turbo upgraded people out there actually kept stock LICP, unmodified stock o2 & exhaust manifold and stock downpipe ?

And to answer the OP, here are some FP black BB results:

I have been running FP Turbos for Years. I have ran: Red/JB Black/DBB Black. I love my DBB Black, it is the best turbo I have ever personally ran on my car. I have ran every stock appearing turbo on the market for the EVO on customer cars and I have beenvery happy with the DBB products. We have installed/tunes 7 that I can recall. Every customer is 100% satisfied. If you would like to order one, let me know and I can get you one at a great price.

that just sounds like a waste. Looking at the price of something like a Black- why would someone skimp on an o2 housing and rob themselves of the benefits of a better flowing turbo by holding it back with a part that's inexpensive to replace and already coming off in the install?

I agree. At least change out the 02 housing. The Megans are dirt cheap and help out quite a bit sir!

That was to get people to start thinking about stock frame turbo's should not have any excuse for the higher cost. Just because it can bolt on, people still forget that they will be spending money on getting an exhaust manifold, o2 housing, Licp, intake pipe etc...

FP DBB turbo now 2500 +$ porting ? + 250 oil lines that they recommend which should already be included with that price? = 2750+100 port = 2850 ?

How much is a stock frame turbo tubular exhaust manifold ? 700-1000 ?

How much is a quality o2 dump for the stock frame turbo? 330-500 ?

How much is a quality 3" downpipe for the stock frame turbo ? 200-300 ?

How much is a quality Licp for the stock frame turbo ? 200 ?

How much is an intake pipe that you may need due to compressor size? 130-200 ?

Depending on the parts your getting, thats close to 5000 on stock frame turbo .
So how much is a non stock frame turbo kit or custom turbo kit ?

Your gonna have to compare what you posted with a T3 or T4 twin scroll turbo kit.
