Would you consider an STI???
Considered it. I like the look of many STIs (except the bug-eyed ones), and the interior is much better than the EVOs. However reviews all said the EVO was more crisp and generally drove better, and lap times showed the EVO was always faster. Since I care more about performance than comforts, I went with the EVO.
no, i used to like sti's but the community (where im from at least) are just not the type that are knowlagable/worthy of having such cars, many of them are cocky bastards too...just sayin not sure if its like that where you guys are from. but the evo community im too happy with

Cocky bastards in every walk of automotive life. Have you been to a Honda/BMW/LEXUS/Supra/American Muscle/Insert car make here meet.
There are jerks of all kinds. We have our fair share in the evo world.
I'll get my wife's car re-tuned and see if it makes any more power.
The Ringland issue alone on the 08's and up are enough to scare me into not wanting to mod it any further until I can afford to build a new short block for it. She loves scoobys though..........

Supposedly the ringland issues are tune related, they're not inherent to the engine. Subaru had to give it a crappy tune to pass emissions so the car will run lean even under boost. Get it tuned and you're A-OK. Really just an excuse to mod.
I think the OP has made his mind up though. An Evo is the best choice for him.

Yeah I thought it was a factory tune related issue as well but there are people blowing them up all over the place. Factory tune, factory reflash, Cobb OTS tune, Cobb Protune, Open Source tune (actually I've only heard of one Open Source tune blowing the car). Some with bolt ons and others with nothing.
I'm going to pray for the best but plan for the worst. It'll give me a reason to build a 500hp street driven woman owned car. Anyone who knows my wife knows she will def. try to embarrass someone with that kind of power. Hell she tries to embarrass people now. She'll jump on me if I'm not paying attention.

STi's like any vehicle will last as long as you take care of it. When you start modding all bets are off. I've seen Evo's that have issues with just bolt ons and Evo's with 700+ that give no issues at all.
When you start modding a car its almost a crapshoot. You have no clue what you'll end up with. Regardless of who builds it and how much money you've spent. Its hit or miss. Same goes for Subaru's or any other car that you mod.

I had one STI EDM. In that time I love Evos, but in that moment I had the oportunity to bought that STI, but for drag racing i didnīt like it! I put a lot of bolt ons and my evo with few things run better than that STI.
i prefer Evo all the way!

I think I know the STI that's come up for sale.... I almost considered it, too. But I'm having a baby in a little over 2 months, and I'm afraid I won't find an Evo soon enough! But, the STI also has less leg room in the rear if that matters (to me it does of course, lol!)... Of course I'd rather have the STI than my Accord 6-speed.... HMMMMMMM......?
Also, am I the only one who literally never uses cruise, even when I was commuting 100 miles to work???
