Simple steering wheel question.

I have a evo IX mr. Before i take the wheel off can anyone tell me if it's splined and I can remove it and install it back in a different orientation?

I know the steering wheel on my 8 had splines. I'm not sure if they designed it so it can only be installed in one orientation though, I just took it off and re-installed it in the same orientation.

Any particular reason you want to rotate your wheel?

if it's to adjust the car tracking straight....get it done properly with an alignment

To answer your question, yes, you can take it out and install in a different position. But like demon said, why??

There's more than eight splines, there are lots of splines. So, no problem changing the orientation of the wheel.

However, this isn't the proper way of straightening a crooked wheel. Straightening the steering wheel is done by adjusting the length of the tie rods, one longer and one shorter until the steering is straight.

I have a wooden homemade gauge in my garage I use for setting toe. Right now I can tell you my car is toed out in front by 1/32 of an inch, not enough to be worth getting out the tools.

Okay calm down lol. My car is in alignment. When I did the front sway bar install. You had to take the splined column apart and my marks got rubbed off >_<. Now my steering wheel is so off center it would be impossible to fix with an alignment. So I have to flip my wheel completely over or else my tie rods would be like 3-4 inches different in length if that's possible lol. So no worries. My car is in alignment. Just got done 2 months ago =D
