Did you buy a USED Evo?

Just curious about those who purchased a used Evo 8 or 9, since I'm interested in picking one up.

If you did buy a used Evo, please post:

1) Year of car
2) Mileage when purchased
3) Any negative experiences from owning a used Evo

Thanks.

I purchased two used evo's. In 07 i bought a 04 ww with 52k on the clock. It was completely stock and ran great. Did the 60k service a month after i bought it and it ran perfect til it was totalled. I then bought a 06 gg se with 13k miles. the only thing that was wrong with the car was the s****y wiring for the alarm besides that it was mint.

1) 2003
2) 128k
3) This specific car had alot of miles. I got it last friday and put a hard 100 miles on it, Besides needing a good clean up and about 2-300 bucks in parts, the car was well worth the money i paid for it.

My old one:

1) 2004
2) Don't remember
3) Turbo was blown, was riced the hell up, but was one of the cleanest i had ever seen. Took all the parts that made it a ricer off, replaced the turbo with a stock one, repainted the calipers, re painted the spoiler, powder coated the wheels, and made $2k off it.

Thanks. Besides the requisite mods, did you have to spend a lot of money fixing things?

Nope.. I've had it since 2008 and the only thing to go bad was the clutch.

This thread is kind of pointless. How a car was cared for is going to have a lot more to do with repairs/maintenance than year/mileage/mods. Searching will also give you a lot of information along with stickies to properly purchase an evo that won't empty your wallet on repairs. Best of luck.

Also, PLEASE take someone with you who knows evos to look over a prospective purchase.

Can you be more specific regarding the problems? Or at least, was it still worth it buying them used?
