Think that has been posted a few times, but I can tell you from personal experience your injectors will lock. I had a set lock last year - luckily ID replaced them. Unfortunately I purchased a brand new set before I sent that set off (not expecting them to give me new injectors) - shameless plug but I have a set of brand new id2000s w/ 1000 mile old blue evo adapters for sale haha.

That article also contains the reasons I'm running 93 and e98 for my maps. Absolutely consistent, period.

Is this based on experience, or from a few negative posts on the forum? I have been running e85 for over two years without any issues, with many other members on the forum running over 5 years without issues. Like everything else, the life of your motor will be dictated by the quality of the tune, maintenance, and driver input.

Going 3 years. No issues. Ran it through PTE 1200's for a year, FIC 1450's for a year and nor FIC 2150's for about 5 months and no issues letting the car sit for weeks at a time.

I have a ECA and so far in GA the E85 content has been consistently been E85.

E85 future?

Anyone no the future of E85? The subcity did not pass so it ended the year of 2012.

Will they stop expanding locations?

Or worse start shutting down locations!

I no the price is going to raise for obvious reasons but I'm worried they are Going to start shutting down Stations

Not sure on the future of E85, however, the price spike that some people were saying was inevitable has yet to happen in my area. The cost of E85 is $.90 cheaper than the cost of 93 octane where I live. As long as the cost of E85 is equal to or cheaper than the cost of 87 octane, I don't see it going anywhere.

That's a good question since I did not mention, its based on professional testing which unfortunately I can not comment anything about the failures but the durabilty testing is an accelerated test for over 100k miles, for an example, there are other associated tests.

There are reasons beyond the basic communites understanding to why some OEM's do not promote flex fuels vehicles even though their products are capable of running E85 (by the mistake of someone actually running it). These are coupled with some of the same reasons why OEM's are against increased ethanol mixture in gasoline, it has a very strong effect on other various parts.

In my personal opinion E85 will not stick around forever, as a whole (across the USA), it is still pretty rare and mostly seen in farming states. It did not become as popular as once believed, its a cost increase for gas stations to actually use it as it requires extra storage and pumps etc.... especially since the overall population didn't use it, they had no benefit to keep it in some areas.

I never have liked it. I know you can make great power but the few downsides I've seen from it keep me from running it. Everybody's car is different. Everybody's tune is gonna be different. I prefer race gas...110 or better. I've run it in my car plenty of times and she loves it

I have it readily available in my area and it's not outrageously expensive. I only run it on occasion. I guess I'm old school.

E85 is available less than a mile from my house. I'm not even mildly tempted to use it. It's matter of lifestyle and faith, or its lack thereof; I bought my car to keep and I'm an atheist.
