E85 vs Q16 at Same Boost

Getting ready to switch over to E85. Assuming tunes are optimized for each, which of these two fuels has the potential to make more hp/tq at a given boost level, say 34 psi on a 2.0L FP Black?

I made about 30 more HP on Q16 over E85 on my galant. However it was my first tune on e85. I think now I could make the exact same if not more power on E85. Also the cost is the big part. 4 bucks vs 16 bucks gallon.

I would not even consider Gas if you have E85 availalbe to you.

From what I remember reading on Q16 is that it is a step up from C16. Q also is oxygenated and does require bumping up fuel a little from C16. I use C16 as it gives closest power Ets and traps to e85 at my elevation. So that being said Q16 tuned right should have the edge. But then driving your car on C16 level fuel all the time with out paying your arm and buddies leg is great.

Tuned properly, you will make more power on 16.

Thanks! Would this be at the same boost level? I suspect one or the other would allow more ultimate boost and would therefore make more power at that boost level, but I really want to know which makes the most at a given psi. In other words, if I run 34 psi on Q16, will it make about the same tq/hp on E85 at the same 34 psi?

It depends if you are already maxed out in the timing department on E85.

But yes, the 16 will allow for more timing (more HP, without added boost)!

I think that E85 is a far superior fuel to C16 and Q16. I would never run C or Q ever again. I made almost the same power on E85 vs Q16. On E85 I was 680whp, and on Q16 I was 710hp. At the same boost level. I could have put more timing in the car on E85 but I was happy with the power.

Bottom line dont waste your money on race gas when you can buy e85 for a fraction of the cost.

I'll stick to e98 for less than 3$ a gallon

They don't even sell e98 in my area. Where the hell are you getting it?

I have 3 plants within 100 miles of me, two places within 35 miles that have it on pump, and two major suppliers that I can buy in bulk from if I wish less than 20 minutes from my house. Also have constant access to vp110 and vp116 I can pick up in 55 gallon barrels or 5 gallon pails and one gas station that actually carries vp110 on pump close by during the summer

E85 just makes more sense than barrels of race fuel. Availability and cost are huge.
But, the only thing performance wise the E has on 16 is low EGT's. The 16 gets it done better.

^ That Q16 has the edge in power but if you have ready access to E85 you can't beat it just on the cost alone.
