lancer evo acting up again

My lancer evo 9 is acting up I had my transfercase rebuilt and it still does the same ****. I got it rebuilt by shep and its still binding when I go into a turn turning my wheel to the all the right or to the left what can it be this time? The transfercase was installed by a certified shop. What can it be?

I wouldn't say its your t-case if its only while turning. I'd check the steering rack, hub, or the axle

Sounds to me like and axle. If you are moving and turned.

Okay how do I check for the issue everyone. I mean it only happens in a turn for one and it skipps only in the turns its like it binds the car and locks up the car from moving? whats the deal with that? When the car was in an accident the only axle that went stiff is the one on the passenger side. also keep in mind I changed all my oils in the drivetrain but i did not add the friction modifier in the diff is that an issue?

You filled your rear differential with the wrong gear oil.

Yup, right oil. There is one aftermarket product that will produce your exact symptoms. So I figured...............

Still, it sounds to me like the clutches in the rear differential being over active. Is this an ACD car?

Yes its an acd lancer evo 9 2006. I never changed the rear diff though im going to have it inspected, what are my chances of it being the axles? Or is it just the rear diff?

Despite after having my transfercase installed by professionals after being rebuilt by Shep im not about to give up now. But aside from all of that this car is killing me moneywise. But I look at it this way if I did the transfercase now thats less I have to worry about later on down the line you know.

What was going on that caused you to pull the transfer case?

Well for one I felt a vibration in the car and a binding sensation when I turn the wheel to the hard left or to the hard right the car would bind up when I have my wheel straight there wasnt any binding. So I got the transfercase rebuilt. So now I have the issue of it still binding.

So now im looking at the rear diff as the issue and maybe the axles im looking at the rear diff to be the issue. If thats not the result im going to change the axles if that doesnt work imma sell the car.

If any one of the three differentials in the car decide to not release when turning it could cause the problem. If you look on this page you will encounter other people having problems with redline. If the center diff is the problem it should set an alarm on the dash.

Some people like the rear diff being a little grabby but it shouldn't happen it with Diaqueen.

I remember people with DSMs who would weld the center diff solid.
