Ok. Your 'friend' is a piece of **** for one. Second, why on earth after knowing all the other **** he does to cars would you EVER let him behind the wheel of your evo....? Even more amazing is why you would be surprised when he does exactly what you KNOW he is going to do. Sucks your motor blew dude, but pull your head out of whatever hole it is currently lodged in and try to find your common-sense as soon as possible....

Don't mean to be a noob here but im not fully understanding what happened, what does low rpm high load do to the evo? What does flooring it in 5th gear have to do with it blowing up? Is it because of a tune or a lack of a tune?

this is the number one reason why you should NEVER let anyone drive your car.

2nd'ing this. Read the posted thread, still found nothing to clue me in on why high load on low rpm's blew the motor.

when you run high gears things change like the boost starts to creep up and the load goes up also , which if your engine is not ready for that BooM!

Don't let people drive your car that a) will drive it harder than your wife will, and b) don't have the money to pay for everything if its damaged. That INCLUDES tuners. And why in the bloody hell would anyone street race a car thats not theirs? Why would you let him?

The only people that ever take my car into boost are people that I've known for years and have the $ and the morality to pay for every last expense that would come from breaking my car. And likewise to me for their rides. Plus we never ever drive each other's car to "street race" or on the track. Even then we don't drive each others cars if theres any doubt it might break. I have a buddy that drives my car fairly frequently but I will not drive his car (even though he's offered) because its a stock block nsx with a GT40r and 12psi of boost. If it blows I don't have the $30k+ to fix it so I don't drive it!

Your former friend is a douche bag and both of you should've known its a bad idea to let him drive that car into boost. I hope you get some kind of compensation. Even though I don't think its totally deserved since you should be aware of the ramifications of tossing your keys to anybody for a spin.

if the engine was built and not on the ragged edge, it would have been fine. the general consensus is keep it under 400lb/ft and the stock engine is fine. people get it tuned to 399lb/ft and expect it to live forever. point is the more power you make on the stock engine, the more likely it is to blow. at that power level, its going to blow regardless, just a matter of if its going to last 1k miles or 10k miles.

yep. the only friend i let drive my cars babies them compared to me and is the only person i would let drive it without me in the car. if something happened, he would sell his car to pay for it.

If flooring it is a bad idea then dont let anyone drive your car. I let my friends drive my evo. I brake boost it in 5th gear to 30psi and it stays together. If it blows then so be it. If a car cant be run as is at all rpm under redline then thats not a setup anyone should drive. It is the owners fault for letting someone drive it knowing any variance from a certain procedure would kill it.

With all due respect, your a fool. How the hell do you let someone you dont even know house sit for a whole week? Specially someone that begged to stay in it? I could only imagine the **** he did while you were gone! Then you let him rape your civic, but you didn't stop there... You gave it to him again to finish it off! Now you give him your evo. He has you under such control that he proceeds to race your car with you in it while your telling him not to?! Wtf? This is a series of unfortunate decisions that your going to have to learn from. Right now your a manipulators dream.

Didn't you say he's a member here? If he is, why did you post that your going to try to trick him into paying some of it by saying you don't have the money even tho you do? I mean this story is hard to believe because of how passive you have been.

Either way man I wish you luck in getting some type of return on this. Even if it is just a lesson learned.

It's COO to hear ur guys opinions but for those calling me names, I'm gonna ask nicely.

I'm in the army, I just moved here, I met him on the forum and he was the only person to help me move in when I got here. Had I known he would flaked like he did he would of never sat in my car.

Once again, I have the $ to fix the car. And have since been fixed the other car. I'm trying to get opinions to see how others feel about how he reacted. Especially because this guy is trying to be a tuner and offer to tune people on these forums.

As for legal avenues etc, I am going to do so, due to a family member being able to do most of the work for free. To me even if I can Jus inconvenience him, to teach him a lesson then that's enough for me.

Once again, unless ur man enough to meet me in person keep the names to urselves

Post up his user name and save anyone else the possibility of this poor excuse for an automotive enthusiast having their car in his hands.

I'm sorry it happened, man. You can do nothing except move forward at this point. Build it better and stronger. Never let him drive it again, but dont let it change how, or who you are.
