Friend driving = blown motor?
I apologize for offending you in my previous post. I really do hope you get something out of him. It's not fair that he took advantage of you even if he wasn't your friend to begin with. Looking forward to an update on this thread about you getting your money from him In the near future.
****, before i deployed last year, i allowed 2 other soldiers to stay at my place because they had nowhere to stay, one was living in his car.... so some call it being naive, yada yada yada.. i could school most on alot of stuff. sometimes you make your way in the world by being the good guy.. doesnt mean im by any means naive...or any kinda fool.
my car is currently at a local shop w/ motor pulled. english racing has a long rod 2.4L motor, the head and my core just arrived to ER a week ago, and im waiting to see what needs to be replaced in the head for them to proceed so i can get the motor back. ive replaced pretty much everything i needed to make sure the new motor has a fair start.
im sorry to hear about what happen, i would threaten him with legal procedures... if he doesn't budge, then it will be time to take him to court...
other then that i agree with a few of the others said, chalk it up on the board, You live and you learn...

Delete this thread then tell authorities he stole it and held you by knife/gunpoint. :l
Honestly though, you're going to have to play dirty pool with this crook if you want to get anything out of it from him, by the sounds of the type of person he is.
Otherwise you're just going to have to take the hit and cut your losses by learning your lesson and never associating with him again.

. Just take the hit, cut your losses and move on. You're going to have a hell of a time getting money out of him if he doesn't do it willingly. Do you really think a judge is going to agree with you? All the guy has to say is "prove that my actions and my negligence caused the damage" and you're SOL.
I just stumbled upon this while driving home...
To start things off...
This one local meet wasnt the first time Jmcmill3 gave me permission to drive/run the car aka "570whp/460wtq+ stock block evo". With his persmission I driven the car countless time, including the track to better the times for him. Its not like I drugged him or bullied him to let me drive/run the car, he let me. When he says "I seen him asking to line up races" he forgot to mention the part about me asking "Hey man do you want me to follow?" or the part "Hey do you want to re-run the 280z?"... His answer "Its up to you, go for it". I am nowhere near at fault for his motor blowing, he/everyone knows the consequences when running a car... things will break, thats just the name of the game(Let alone his "570whp/460wtq+ stock block evo".
To comment about my Evo and S2k being down since he makes it out to be like Im breaking cars from being an idiot...
1st... My evo didnt blow a motor or anything like that. I was running a stock block/head/turbo setup with 146k miles. Ive put it together and tuned it. It was running a 32psi tapering to about 23-24psi at redline. Ive ran my car numerous times at the track and in "mexico". It did a best of 11.808@122mph. It is currently down because the headstuds started to stretch a little and I didnt want to blow it up so I pulled the motor.... the reason being is I currently had a built motor getting assembled so I just decided to pull the stock motor instead of replacing the stock 146k mile headstuds.
As for the s2k... that car is currently running and is my beater. It was down for about 2 weeks due to the clutch needing replacing, which I and some friends helped out with(work doesnt allow too much free time). It did take a little longer than I anticipated since I nor my buddy has worked on one. Now looking back it would take a few hours to do a clutch job on an s2k. Oh and my s2k was supercharged so that made it a little more difficult..... and yes I said "was" supercharged because I took off the supercharger and YES it is still running strong.
In the end Jmcmill3 is gonna make it seem like Im the bad guy even though I offered to help, but now I will not since he has lied, threatened me with court, and threatened me with violence. Take it for what its worth, but dont blame me for your car blowing the motor... Jmcmill gave me permission to drive/run his "570whp/460wtq+ stock block evo".

Oh come on. Don't pretend you were going to pay for it lol. . .
And obviously you two had words about this before his post. If you were going to 'help' I'm sure his post wouldn't have been worded as such.
(Not saying you are at fault for the motor, which was tuned on the edge for a stock motor)
Still interested to hearing about toasting the clutch in his honda
Not picking sides or validating anything as fact, but still going to grab some popcorn

Oh and even if you could establish that he caused the motor to blow, this idea that he somehow owes you a rebuilt motor is BS. He, at most, broke a stock block with X thousand miles on it. How much is a used stock Evo block worth?

EDIT: like i mentioned before i offered to help him with me doing the labor... but he said "he didnt want too many moving pieces" so i just left it at that. I understand Im not STM, AMS, or any shop like that, but I am confident in what I do and I wouldnt have offered my services if I felt otherwise. I wouldnt touch somebodies if i didnt know what i was doing.
As for the civic it was high mileage and was pretty much the same boat as the evo. That clutch was already gone before he even got the car. When he mentions he left the house along with the civic he forgot to mention he wanted me to meet someone with the civic so they could look at it to buy it. That day I came back the civic just didnt want to go into gear. It wasnt from ragging on it or so called "being abusive" like people think.

I love how everybody on Evom acts like they have all the information needed to decide who was right or wrong.
