Headlight Question

Im sure it been covered, but is there any difference between an HID headlamp housing and a non HID headlamp housing?

As in, could I take the motor, ballast and wiring from my HID headlights in my VIII and mount them to a non HID headlamp for a IX?

Ive tried looking for pics in FS threads and no one ever takes a pic of the bottom

The non-HID housings have a fake lense where the foglight for the HID housings are located. At the back of the headlight there is no hole to put a bulb for the foglight. There are also color differences.

I am looking for a set of non-HID headlights.

Damn. I found a good deal with a company to get my hands on a set of housings for a IX, and I want them to be HID.

Why do you prefer the non HID headlamps opposed to the HID? The fog lights rock!

fog lights are ok, they only come on when the head lights are on, unless u go rewire it all so its user switched.

no idea. The company I can get them from do not have them in hand, and cannot tell me if it is HID or not.

I plan on modifying them for different applications.

That price seems a little off but if you have a used set then shoot me an offer.
