The Iridium plugs are supposed to be pre gapped. be careful if you check the gap with the disk type tool, or use a gap tool. you can scrape the platinum material off the ground strap and introduce problems you did not have before. you should be able to just buy them and put them in.

The gap that comes on them is not even close to what is supposed to be run on the IX's, use a feeler gauge to properly set the gap.

Also, the only plugs you will need are stock plugs

Why not just run a BPR8(or 7)ES?
They're like $2 a pop and you're not going to see much of a difference going with Iridium.

According to NGK Techs, the two plugs are the same except for two minor differences.
ILFR7H - OEM GAPPED AT .024" PLATINUM TIPPED ELECTRODE
LFR7AIX - SAME DIMENSIONS, GAPPED AT .028" (WILL NEED TO BE ADJUSTED) AND ELECTRODE IS NOT PLATIMUM TIPPED.
Difference is the OEM will last longer and will not need to have the gap adjusted. For a difference of $4 a plug, you can adjust the gap and change it at 20K, instead of 30K. Sparkplugs.com has both, I went with the LFR7AIX at $7.99 and just re-gapped them.
