Replacement GReddy boost solenoid.
I purchased this Evo 8 that came with the older style Profec B electronic boost controller. I've noticed recently, boost seems to just do what it wants and I've even hit 30psi not paying attention. I've checked and rechecked the vacuum lines and all the connections, and everything seems to be fine. I'm assuming, because of the Profec B's reputation for unreliable solenoids, that mine failed on me as well.
Which leaves me with a few choices;
1) Replace the solenoid with another $100 GReddy solenoid
2) Replace the controller entirely with a MBC
3) Skip it all, purchase a 3 port solenoid, install, tune, and allow the ecu to do all the work. I don't know how to tune, so I'll just let Aaron @ ER do his magic for me. (this option will be spendy compared to the other two)
if I do replace the solenoid, do I have to go with the GReddy unit or will any 12v solenoid work?
Opinions?

Hrmm I didn't really know that about 3 ports. I'll have to look into it more.
I kinda wanted to salvage the profec b but I'm probably just going to pick up a Hallman, Forge or Grimmspeed mbc and call it a day.
