Oil Pressure Issue

Hey im looking for advice to a problem I have. Ive recently bought a 03 evo with a built motor, the car has been great till now. The oil pressure at full throttle hits 75 psi then drops in high rpms to 25 psi, this only happens in 3rd or 4th gear. Im running mobile1 synthetic 10w40. At idle it sits at 25 and when im just cruising around its between 50 and 75. Please tell me what is causing my problem, I hope someone here has an answer.

can we get more information on your setup? do you have things like a pump to turbo feed line? or a kiggly oil pressure regulator? when was your last service? how many miles on the car/oil pump.. things like that so we can take a better guess...

I dont think it has a pump to turbo feed line it looks like its just coming from the head straight to the turbo. Dont think it has a Kiggly on it. the car has 92k miles, im not sure how many miles on the built motor. I just bought the car about a month ago.

I think I recall hearing from someone (don't remember who exactly) that Evo's do a weird thing where the oil pressure drops at high RPM, but I may very well be mistaken

That's weird. Have you see any leak?

What turbo and how much power are you making? Many people have noticed the oil gets pushed back in the pan away from the pickup during long pulls on higher powered cars. Buschur sells a baffled oil pan to help resolve this.

The way I read it I thought you meant it was 75 psi at high rpm and then it would drop when you got off the gas. That would be normal.

BTW, where is your pressure gauge tapped in?

How quickly is the oil pressure dropping, and how quickly does it return to normal after you let off? Are you running any additives in the oil? Some ppl have issues with "oil cling" if there are additives in the oil, making the oil slow to return to the pan/pick up.
