you have a bad alternator.. check if its charging. should range 13-14 v.

brake light + batt light = normally bad alternator

take off the CAPS LOCK.
definitely sounds like an alternator going bad or IS bad. when u were at autozone, you should have them check it.

The brake light and the battery light on means there's a charging system fault. It will have nothing to do with the BOV.

If your battery went dead for seemingly no reason, I would suspect your alternator. You should check the current and be sure that it's charging your battery properly. If your alternator is good, and your battery is good, then check the alternator fuse... it may have over volted.

You should also be able to find this out through:
1. Search.
2. Your owners manual.

I mention that not to be a dick, as I realize when sh*t hits the fan, sometimes people are on their phones or whatever, and that sometimes... used cars have no manuals...

I mention it so others might know where to find such things.

Let me know what you find.

Billions.

I'd check the voltages first so you don't go and replace a perfectly functioning alternator when all you need to do is check a fuse.

you only have 2 fuse boxes.. engine compartment and below driver dash. i forget where the alternator fuse is. i highly doubt its a fuse.

i do have a Core OEM alternator i could have rebuilt for you if you like for a lot cheaper then a new or aftermarket one. This is my old alternator that was over charging i got a bad one and had it rebuilt so i would not have any down time. this job take about 2 hours to do by yourself.

WARNING.

It will probably take longer than 2 hours unless you have a method to lift the engine. Pulling that alternator through where the axle is (what I did) or through where the fuel rail is will be a pain in the a**. Some people on this forum find it very difficult (me), others say its only 2 hours just so you are aware.

Also, this is exactly what my car did when my alternator/battery went bad.

Yes, please check the fuse before replacing the alternator. The fuse is the large 100amp fuse located directly on the positive battery terminal, it is not in a fuse box.

Mine did the same thing. But I took mine out in about 4 hours. First time, the parts that got me were the 32mm axle nut was a ***** to get off, and the whole axle removel. But i didnt have to lift the engine. I just moved the alternator around and t slipped out behind the oil pan. With little space. But it turns out my alternator was fine. The wires that lead from the battery to the alternator had come lose and they were making a bad connection and werent charing. GL
