well i got rear ended today but need some input from you guys
Well i took my car to a body shop to get an estimate and i brought up if i could buy the JDM bumper and they just reimburse me what the insurance would cover for my existing bumper. The guy seemed very hesitant about it saying hes never heard of a bumper that comes painted from the factory. When he brought up how much the USDM rear was which is $814 without paint, i told him i would be saving them money cause after paint and all the JDM would be cheaper and even the crash bar i would need would be less than $400 which is what they priced my existing one at. So im not liking this guys attitude towards it so im off to another body shop here in a little.
Get an estimate to get it fixed and see if the insurance company will just cut you a check?
Replacing the bumper yourself is actually very easy, and I even modified my stock crash bar to use with my JDM IX bumper. Drilled the spot welds, did some easy measurements, and rewelded the spot welds.
