How much brake fluid?

does an Evo IX take?

I know, probably should have asked in the tires/wheels/brakes subforum, but I figured it was a basic question and I'd get a quicker response here.

Also, any brand recommends are welcome.

1 liter should be more than enough to flush your entire brake system,i flushed my system and had enough left over to flush my clutch system also, this fluid is one of the best ones i've used both for the street and track, you can buy it in clear if you don't like the blue tint.

Cool, thanks.

Also, just to threadjack my own thread, do you recommend a particular brand of pads for street driving?

Dust I can live with, squeal not so much.

I myself prefer the EBC reds for street and the occasional track day,but there are many offerings available out there and many things to take into consideration when buying pads, also make sure you reuse or buy the brake pad shims if you don't have them, they're seriously underrated.I still have yet to see a performance brake pad that doesn't squeal at least at times,it's always a tradeoff.
