Camshaft position sensor improper installation!

Hello guys! I have a question for you!!!

As some of you know, Right now I´m tuning my car through custom email tune. So far I have had many problems and the engine is not giving the power desired. I checked for leaks and other problems that may be affecting engine performance and among many bad things I've found.

Among many bad things I found that the camshaft position sensor, according to installation diagrams, was upside down. Here I leave a picture of how it was. The top was down and vice versa ... this in that I could affect when running the car?
For you guys, what could affect to my car this bad installation?

Have you reinstalled it to it's correct position? It should be good to go then, unless the sensor has went bad.

Yeahh! Right now the senosr is in the correct position... When the Cam position sensor was in the wrong position the car starts great and run great at least in motor behavior does not feel anything unusual, but the car does not have the power that I want. Thae car have any other details that we are correcting as the change of lifters for a JAM set and removing boost leaks, but I want to know what could have affected the incorrect position of the sensor in the performance of the car?
