Your initial post just sank in..
Are you stating that they will sell you an 'Urban Jungle Package" equipped EVO and give you $2,000 cash back after trade??
Sounds to me like they:
1. Have a serious buyer for your car because they are sold out of black or ??
2. Have the type of markup I expect in the 'RS" due to it being less optioned out..and can make deals like this.
3. Have hit their head and are nuts.
Either way, you have more to lose than just the Urbam jungle stuff..Brembos, etc. Unless your going to track the car as it has been said to be the ideal use for the "RS" you have more to lose and less to gain..IMO

well guys here's the latest update as of now. i just finished talking to my dealer and she has told me this: the deal still stands and it just stands for me and for me alone. she's even going so far as to find out everything she can about the '04. I didn't ask as to why they are so interested in my tarmac, but comon guys would you pass up this kind of opportunity? She's also sending me the newest brochures on the '04 and RS when she gets them. other than that i will let you guys know anything else that does come up.~Jon
P.S. thanks for all the advice and knowledge you've passed down to me... thanks again

Proceed with caution, they may be in deep dodo and want the equity in your EVO to survive a few more days, weeks or months before either closing the doors or selling out to someone who will not be under any obligation to you.

I can't believe you think that dealer is doing you a favor and playing to your advantage.
Are you looking at life through pink shades or are you just very unexperienced?
And from your original post I also understood that you want the RS with urban jungle package. For $2k less... fishy.
Don't forget to tell us where they screwed you...

They could likely have a buyer interested in an '03 EVO who intends to keep the car in storage because he thinks the car will be a collector's item. The dealership could be out of their allocation for '03 and not have a car to dealer trade. If they do go through with the deal, they'll have the markup from the original '03 the second markup on the '03 to the buyer and a slight markup on the '04.
They aren't going to be doing you any favors, they obviously have something to gain. But if you gain also they why not go for it. The whole thing does sound kind of fishy though because the amount of work involved in the deal does not sound like something that would normally be economically feasible for a dealership.
