Small filter options for turbo inlet??

I am going to start to DD my Evo and cannot just run a screen on my turbo anymore. I have been looking and looking for a small filter to go over my turbo inlet (4") - I can't find anything out there. I have a limited amount of space, only a 6" diameter filter will fit and it cannot stick out farther than 4" from the turbo. I don't want to sacrifice too much power, so I am looking for something that will flow good, but protect the turbo.

Anyone use anything that works? Pics?

Below is a picture of my engine bay so you can see what I am talking about..

The filter in question would need to flow enough air to support just how much power?

Mounting the turbo so far left off center axis was done to retain air conditioning I assume?

Yes, custom manifold fabricated for that purpose. I still have AC and PS thank goodness!

Turbo is a 6267 triple ball bearing.

Ditch the intercooler sprayer reservoir and gain some room for a filter

I think only for DD one HKS filter (like the image attached), but with the diameter necesary to fit in the inlet turbo... For Race without filter I think!

BTW, good work in your car!!! that car is a beast!

The HKS green foam mushroom filter is the shortest one I can think of, you'll just need to fine one with the correct diameter flange.

yeah this is the first thought that came to my mind as well. There is that 4"(almost) opening in the sheet metal and that empty space below once you yank the spray reservoir out from under there. If that opening is directly below the compressor inlet he could use a 4" 90* elbow and put a huge filter down under there.

http://www.knfilters.com/search/prod...x?prod=ru-2510 4" inlet size and it's 3.5" in height, and 5.375" in diameter. It's part number RU-2510

Looks like you're the new owner of one my friends old evo. Looks like a few things have changed, but the car was a beast!
