Unhappy Ran Engine with no oil

Just as the title says..about a week ago i prepped my 2004 evo 8 for an oil change..(put it on jackstands, drained oil, bought filter, and new fully synth oil. As it turns out like any evo freak i am picky about when i do oil changes (about every 8-1000 kms), i have a very busy schedule so i had to put the oil change aside for a couple weeks till i had free time (here's where all hell breaks loose). So yesterday i lower my car, tighten filter, screw ect walk to front of car and start it. idle sounded very quiet and i noticed my oil pressure light on, after idling for about 5-10 seconds i immediately turn the car off remembering i forgot to fill oil . after my breakdown i filled oil up with royal purple change and everything sounded as before. Im very picky about oil/engine maintenance and when this happened i was crushed but everything sounds okay now. Does anyone know whether i have caused some premature bearing wear or possible damage anywhere else from doing this? i need straight up truth im not an optimistic person so im not comforting myself it was no more that 5-10 seconds if not less. Any thoughts of things i should do next?

(also dont know if this matters but car has about 3000 miles on engine)

I would say no also, you have to remember that when you do an oil change all of the oil doesnt come out. 5-10sec really doesnt even start to generate any heat either. Next time i would write yourself a note or think of a way to remind yourself to put the oil in lol

If it was only for 5 to 10 seconds then your fine. The left over oil residue from the old oil should have kept the motor lubed enough to save it. I wouldn't worry about it. Also next time, just do the oil change all at once , takes half an hour. That way you don't lose track of things.

I always put the keys next to the full bottles of oil.

"Where the hell are my keys? Oh, that's right I need to add the oil."

Back in the day (old car build) we used to move the car around a lot in pieces, so as a reminder we put post-its on the dash/steering wheel with bullet points of whats missing (in case someone else had to move it while I wasn't at the shop too).

I had to leave the keys with it, but a big NO COOLANT / NO OIL post it got the message lol

p.s. hopefully you still had a little oil in the bearing rings, so when you ran it for those 10 seconds, it had some lubricant. that would be my only worry IMO. 10 seconds isn't enough to produce damaging heat numbers.

It should be fine. Wasn't for long. some people i know have had cars run for few minutes and still be good. I always put oil cap on the hood latch to remember it, and never keep the oil hidden, always in open or on path back to driver seat.

I once forgot to put the oil fill cap back on. It was on a Mazda MX6 and lost about 4 quarts under hard driving. Engine bay was oily but the car still ran great after I filled it back up. lol we all have OH **** I FORGOT moments.

You change your oil every 800 to 1000km, wow that's crazy, I thought every 5000km was bad enough. If I did every 1000km on my DD I'd be changing my oil every week or so! Changing oil with only 800km on it is like throwing away new oil. Is this the norm, doesn't the manual recommend every 6000km?

I would reccomend you do an oil analysis asap, this will tell you if metal to metal contact occured and posible damage

At the dealer I work at we've had lube techs drive cars out of the shop and on their way to our car wash building realize they didn't put oil in and there were no signs of damage, just filled it up and they were on their way. I've seen the whole leaving the oil cap off scenario happen too like Runker was saying, pain to get all the oil out of the hood.
