Radar for finding cops
I have never had a radar detector anybody have a good suggestion on brand and make? Also I drive freeway a lot so probably needs to detect lazer? Thanks David.
Does it work really good. I don't want it so I can speed just want to know what's coming and try to avoid city cops. They have jar on's here in Washington for modified cars. Anything beyond stock is illegal.

1) Nothing beats instant on or Laser
2) Valentine is better then most in some areas and Escort beats them in others. Google best radar detector and you will find some sites that test all radar detectors.
I have a Escort 9500ix (The Ci is a Laser/Jammer combo) and after using a Valentine for a few years i have to honestly say its as good for less the cost.
Can't go wrong with either (Valentine has some cool features no one else has like directional arrows to let you know where the radar source is coming from. Or with the 9500iX it has GPS so there is a data base of redlight cameras in it and it will let you know based on that database if you are coming up on one it also lets you know your speed based on GPS, very advantageous).

Out of all the ones i've used nothing is more sensitive than the Valentine 1,some others may have different features like GPS and red light camera database, when purchasing a detector be aware of typical online propaganda against the Valentine 1,the do not wholesale to online websites for resell so no many stores and websites like the Valentine 1,if you want one you have to buy it straight from them. Some biased websites won't even test the Valentine 1 for the same reasonTrending Topics
you're talking like a radar detector detects cops. IT DOESN'T. it will not stop you from being pulled over or save your from tickets every time. it detects radar. hence it's name. idk how it is where you're from, but here city cops rarely have their radar on. highway patrol are the ones who have it. i have used a passport 8500 for a long time. it works well and i have avoided many tickets. it helps, but only if you know how to use it.
Valentine one... I have never been beaten by instant on. It always picks up the guys getting tagged a mile or two up the road.
I drive easily 40,000 miles a year, and I have only been hit for speed once in the past 5 years, and that was with laser radar in southern wisconsin. Any radar detector will just let you know "you just got a ticket" with laser radar.
Oh, and here's the single best feature that the valentine one has over the rest... it will NEVER be obsolete. when they come up with an update, you just have to send your V1 into the factory and they will update it for the cost of the update. So far I have sent mine in twice, and both cost under $30.
Oh, and once I fried my V1 by setting it on a hot wire while I was doing an alarm installation (yeah, I was a fool for leaving a hot wire exposed, and not disconnecting the battery...) and when I called V1 to buy another unit, and explained the situation to the sales woman she said "give me your serial number" so I did... she said "you know, that was due for a main board upgrade... so if you'd like, you can just send that one in, and we will repair and update it for you for $27". 5 days after I sent it in, I got a brand new detector back (with all accessories, in the box) with a note saying "couldn't repair yours, here's a replacement". for a "repair charge" of $27.
