Can I run leaner than 10:1 AFR on the pump?
I was going over all my formulas and logs thus far and I couldn't help but notice my WB02 wasn't checking anything lower than 10:1 AFR. Can I safely run richer (yup I screwed up the title) than this at higher load cells on pump gas?

Why would you want to run richer? I wouldn't really think constantly running 10 or lower is safe....there is something called running too rich just like running too lean. Both have their negative affects.

If you thought that it was ok to run your car 10:1 or richer for any length of time at wide open throttle, then you haven't studied up enough to start tuning yet.

Do your engine a favor and run no richer than 10.5. Even then, that's richer than you need. On my more aggressive street map I run 11.7-11.15 throughout the rev range (94 octane). On my lapping map where I'm WOT for long periods of time I run low 11's.
Yeah, I haven't tuned anything really. I am running a stock fuel map. Raptord, the 10's that are showing up are at WOT and hitting 220 load. I haven't touched the fuel maps. The only map I've touched is the MIVEC and that got flashed to a EVO IX RS map. Should I try and lean it up some?
What I'm trying to figure out is if that is normal or not. I would like to run something like 11.x and up the boost some...... to say 21-22 psi. I heard this is more the feasible with stock engine.

Interesting, what else do you think? On all the tutorials I read here 10ish seems to be what people are hitting at 7000 on cell 220 with a stock map. Did you study too?

That's why it's good to retune the map to run leaner than the stock map.
Thanks for the advice guys. I'm going to give the 11's a shot. To be honest I'm scared to f with afr's but I know it has to be done in the pursuit of performance. I'll try the spool target afr's as well. What about lean spool? Lean spool yes or no?
