oil change $$$
I talked to one guy tonight who said they told him after the work was done that the oil change would be $80. It's stupid. No oil change in the world is worth $80. Do it yourself. It’s a minimal hassle and a whole lot cheaper. The Evo is very easy to change the filter on too. Last few cars I’ve had, they mount the filter sideways on the engine block so when you unscrew it all the oil drips down the side of the block and makes a big mess. Evo's filter is face up so it comes out nice and clean.
Also, I've had so many seriously bad experiences with mechanics doing bad things to my cars over the years... . I told Mitsu to forget the pitpass. The only way they'll ever see this car again is if it needs warranty or recall work done on it. I’m even reluctant to let them work on it then, but they won’t give out the parts for free so I can install them.

im gonna see about changing the oil myself from now on if the dealership dont give me any crap about any warranty voiding. they probably say something about how i have to finish out the coupons or something like that. but you better believe im NOT bringing it back to them. i called to see about a tire balance&rotation and they told me around $60.....WHAT!
you can forget that, i can find a cheaper place.

well i got the first 3 done, now there telling me that i should have been paying the difference for what the coupon is for. reg oil change- $65, my coupon is only paying $37 of it. they say next time ill have to pay the $28.
i thought it was free untill 36,000,mi, thats what the dealership said. i can buy the oil and do it myself for for like a 1/4 of what they charge! they always find a way to dick you in the end some how.

I have mine changed every 5K miles, but I also put about 5K miles a month on my car, there is no way I'm bringing it in for an oil change every two weeks when the owner's manual says 5K is o.k.

I was never told about Pit Pass either. I just got my first oil change this past Fri at a little over 2000 miles. I had a coupon for a free oil change that I got in the mail that was about to expire so I thought I'd use it. I was sure I was going to go into the dealer and they would say "this coupon excludes the Evo" but they didn't. I can't believe the oil change usually costs $65 at the dealer! That's ridiculous! I'm gonna learn how to do it myself...from the sound of things, it's easy.
When we bought the Evo we got the "Premere car care" package.
It has a bunch of stuff like tire insurance and some others including 3 yrs worth of oil changes. The guy tried to charge $1500 at 1st, then we said no, then he brought it down to 1400, no again until he dropped it $500. at this time I didnt know the oil changes would be $65.
Anyways we got it and paid the $500. Then when I found out about the oil changes prices that made me feel pretty good about that $500.
