X to 9 questions

Hey guys last weekend my X was stolen from my driveway and most likely totaled just gotta wait a few days to confirm that. I am planning from switching to an 9. Wondering if any of you guys might of had an X then switched back to an 9 or went from 9 to an X. What did you like about either one more then another. And what are some things that I will probably miss that's not on the 9. Also I want to have around 400hp. I was going to be switching to e85 next month so everything in my signature is my mods minus the walboro fuel pump and 1000cc injectors that were going to be bought in a couple weeks. I could of right below 400 safely on this wondering what the stock block can handle safely and mods I would need to upgrade to reach my goal.. Any help would be awesome and maybe joining the 9 world in the near future if I can't find a clean supra

Injectors, fuel pump, tune, 3 port or mbc, E85, cams/springs/retainers, a nice intercooler kit and a good exhaust should get you pretty close. The stock block will handle the 400hp, its the tq and where it hits that will eat up rods.

Yea I know X 400tq was basically the limit for stock block and under 30psi. Basically everything the X required plus cams. I told my tuner I am happy if I am around 385hp and could be a little less tq so I know I am safe.

LOL yeah power is EASY in our cars. they might not be as comfy to drive around in, but the performance already offsets the comfort, ITS A RACECAR for christs sake plus youll have a real trunk and a stock block capable of like 500+ wtq

I went from a 9 to X to 9. lol. I prefer the raw feel of the 8/9's, they feel a lot more like a go kart then the X's do. Either car can make a lot of power, but the 4g63 has been around a lot longer then the 4b11 so the parts are cheaper and there are tons of options.

i know the X owners get upset when they see a comment like the one im about to post, but i never really quite felt like a X was a real evo. after the 9 that was it....

as for evo 8 and 9 you can make some damn good power, sure its not "plush" and "luxurous" feeling as the X but ours make up for that with the power capabilities and the dashing good looks. plus at least with evos 8 and 9 you can distinguish them from regular lancers

Haha I must admit I like all your comments. Gonna see if there's an 8/9 around the area so I can test drive it. As far as comfort and luxury the only thing I am going to probably miss is the fast key lol. I orginally wanted an 8/9, I did find one completely stock with 16k miles but the dealer was giving me crap on my trade in then found an 08 X 2 years ago with only 11k miles stock for 28k so it fell into place.

i hear ya, in all honesty the interior of a evo 8 or 9 is nothing fancy. if your someone who needs certain amenities while driving and needs a quiet cabin.. then an evo is definetly something you shouldnt look at.

when i purchased my evo 8 brand new in 05 the stock cloth recaro seats were perfect, the stereo was doable and that was it. i didn't even bother with the SSL package cause in my mindset i wasn't worryed about sunroofs, leather and all that other Jazz...

I went from an 8 to a 9 to a 10 (to a C6Z06) and back to a 9. Undoubtedly the X was a better daily than the other evos. But as mentioned earlier there is something about that raw feeling in an viii and ix. You can also find them almost 10k $ cheaper. The x rode a lot smoother and had nice little luxuries like the fob and what not. I hated the fact I had to worry about the cmc breaking on me too also (as mentioned by another member) parts for the 8's and 9's are easier to come by. To be honest I ended up back in a 9 bc of the price. But again it's all what you intend to do...mine is a daily (at the moment)

I am buying an Evo not really concerned about interior. I must say I do not like the black and blue interior I see in some though. But as far as cloth I do not mind actually rather cloth. I am not a big fan of leather in cars, cold in the winter, burning my arms in the summer.

The 9 will not have the blue and black interior, so no worries there.
