Letting EVO sit with gas in tank

I'll be leaving soon for a few months and was wondering if it's okay to let the evo sit with gas in the tank. It's going to be a little over half a tank

+1 for fuel stabilizer , most gas starts to change chemically after a month. If your not sure a little stabilizer will never hurt.

1oz. of STA-BIL Fuel Stabilizer for every 2½ gal. of gasoline, lasts about 12 months.

well you can do either that, or have someone you trust go ahead and start the car up once a week and take it out for a spin.

I don't always drive my evo anymore, but i at least once a week pop the garage open and start it up for abit.

When I had my last car, over winter, I would let the car sit for 5 solid months over winter, with a full tank of 93 in it, and 5 oz of stabilizer in the tank, and it always fired right up after winter was over. When you add it to the tank, be sure to drive it around for a few miles to get the stabilizer through the whole fuel system. Also remove the battery and take it inside and put it on a battery tender so it doesn't die.

I have a 1/4 of a tank on mine and I wasn't sure if its good, so I ended up draining it and use it on my lawn mower.

That's a really good point.

I've read it's better to leave a full tank of gas with fuel stabilizer and other people have told me it's better to leave around 1/4 a tank or less without stabilizer and it should be fine.

For guys that have stored their car in the past how much gas are you leaving in your car? Also how often are you starting your car while it is in storage (if you didn't pull the battery)?

Being from a cold climate that makes total sense. Freezing conditions cause condensation inside the gas tank, therefore creating water in the gas. If you are storing your car in a cold climate, without a doubt fill the gas tank and put the stabil in it.

everyone does it differently, it also depends on how long. but the only consistent thing is the stabilizer.

Haha, I always use v-power in my small engines... It's certainly worth it, considering the little amount I have to use.

Back on topic, I prefer using seafoam instead of stabil. I had stabil gum/gel up once in a different vehicle (correct mixture and everything) - Michigan winter. I always make sure to drive the car around for a couple days, staying out of boost, until I fill back up... I have had great success with seafoam.
